nirvana – lake of fire

The next entry of A Circus Mind is about the band Nirvana. Nirvana was an American rock band that was formed by singer/guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana went through a succession of drummers, the longest-lasting being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990. Enjoy the writing and Lake of Fire from MTV’s unplugged.

Lake of Fire

Nirvana – A Circus Mind

“In the highest happiness, I am overwhelmed by success
Expectations of a generation crushed me to death
I’m punching the clock as I wait to rock from behind the stage
I’d rather be a fuse, burning, ash gray, than to fade away

I am lucid and clear, recklessly engaged in my own fears
Are you taking notice, expose us, forget it, we’re shifting gears
As scents grow in my nose, I recognize the adolescent souls
It’s American rock n roll, looking on, I said oh baby me gotta go

Relent, I don’t need your consent, it’s okay, it’s okay, I’ll repent
In confinement, I’m deviant, I’m a slave to your pale red magnet
Without dimension or perception, I’ve got her under my protection
I can see clearly under Heaven’s extensions, life’s creative organs

I am asking who I am, in the heat I am knowing we’re all one
Without thinking about what’s become, I’m wrestling with love
The long black barrel of a shotgun resides on my tongue
Freedom from pain and care, Ill ride this star into oblivion” – Ryan Cox
