cayucas – bigfoot

cayucas-2013-500x250 If you’ve been searching for that summer album to highlight summer love or sunset up the bend in a shady spot on the lake or in a circle of lawnchairs in the backyard with a bucket of Mexican beer with your best friends, then search no further than Cayucas‘ “Big Foot.” This Vampire Weekend inspired album is just as catchy as the Colombia boys with a warbly Southern California orange glow. Santa Monica tropical pop paired with a slurpee, a jeep with no doors and ocean breeze. Listen to the full ablum on youtube. These guys just blew through Austin at Red 7 with a few dates remaining in the states this summer.

Last week I sent copies of A Circus Mind to Doug Herrick the owner of The Ace Hotel and followed it up with a quick hitter email. From the Ace “We embrace and reimagine classic buildings and interesting opportunities, creating a sense of history and place while reinterpreting those details for a sense of modern bohemia that marries the pragmatic with the romantic. Our hotels are inspired by an affinity for the soulful and fueled by localized and handmade culture.” I mean I feel like the description of the hotel could aptly fit as a description of A Circus Mind with all the bliss of classic rock reinterpretation, soul and bohemia. What a perfect marriage this coudl be. Will The Ace say I do? Send them a note if you agree
